In 51 volunteers with dry skin, a controlled forearm study separated glycerol and petrolatum contributions. Glycerol improved hydration; petrolatum reduced water loss. Measurements covered 12 hours after application.
2019 · randomized four-arm crossover study ↗Hydration and reduced water loss are different outcomes. This study did not test disease treatment or establish how every glycerin-containing cleanser performs.
This product rinses off. A study of a leave-on moisturizer does not establish the same result for this cleanser.
